Morning Fog, number 11 in the Macnas series, is finished.
The final binding stitches were taken at 7:50 pm and the outdoor photos were taken just before 8 pm.
ONLY during the week of the summer solstice can I get decent outdoor photos that late in the day - for which I'm grateful as it is supposed to rain again tomorrow (more on "rain" below).
This was the random online photo that inspired Morning Fog's color palette.
Here is the just-finished quilt on my sewing table under indoor lights.
Quilted with my liberated nested spiral fans using Glide thread in Hawaiian Blue.

This was our back yard on Monday morning.
We knew it was supposed to rain an inch or so . . .
. . . but we had NO idea it would rain just over FIVE inches.
There was so much rain pounding the back roof that one of our living room skylights leaked (first time in almost 20 years).
Tuesday afternoon DH used his engineering knowledge to safely get on the roof and re-caulk the
Fingers crossed that tomorrow's rain is more drizzle than downpour.

My goodness - that is a LOT of rain Julie! The photo used as inspiration for Morning Fog is stunning and you've captured the colours perfectly in your quilt - it's beautiful and so relaxing to look at. Hope any more rain is lighter in volume than the previous downpour.
Morning Fog is a perfect name for this one,you nailed it with the photo reference colors! We're getting way too much rain here as well, the grass is out of control & my veggies are swimming 🤣
I bet the softness of the colors in that quilt are even prettier in person. Wow, that is a lot of rain. We used to have rains like that, about 6 or 7 years ago. After being in abnormally dry and drought conditions for 3 years, a rain over 2" seems like a lot.
WHOA that is a lot of rain for sure, QDJulie!! You've had so much and we've only had just about 1" here yesterday--all those storms flew to the north of us--luckily --but we are in a drought already--looks like August out on our lawns-becoming-hay!! ;(((

I only wish you could capture that rain and send it to places like our home, where we have only had a few driblets in the last several weeks. Love the 'engineering'!
What a perfect quilt to finish in time for 5 inches of rain. That's a deluge!
The quilt is so soothing and calm- great job! All that rain- yikes! We are having more than last year, but nothing that dramatic. Glad your husband could fix the leak, but boy, that looks a bit precarious.
And you were on the northern edge of that tropical storm! We've had a wetter-than-normal year but nothing like 5" in one day, for sure....but Illinois has had the most tornadoes ever and the season hasn't ended.........Back to more calming matters: the morning fog palette is delightful. A lovely quilt.
Morning Fog, the quilt, perfectly captures the mood of the inspiration photo. A few years ago, we had 4" of rain in an hour which caused all kinds of flooding. I think that's the most we've had in a single day, although we may have more back when Hurricane Agnes came through in 1972. Despite the engineer status, that setup would have made me very nervous. I'm glad the repair went without a hitch.
