Last year, Nann sent me a box of goodies that included this published-in-1971 book.
I knew instantly I wanted to use it for my long-thought-about sewing journal.
And at last I have done so.

I cut two color card stock to fit the binder and punched holes to match those of the book's original pages.
(none of those pages were used, aside from a few of the dividers minus their tabs)
I've stored a few of my mother's vintage patterns for years - and now they have a home in this journal.
(card stock was inserted into the empty pattern envelopes before the units were hole punched - the sewing tissue and instruction sheets will be used in future projects)
I added strips of lace, vintage rick rack, and other trims to the back of each page for texture, visual interest, and as a way to actually USE some of those too-long-stashed items.
This zipper repair kit came from DH's grandmother's stash. I'm elated to have a proper home for it.
Vintage button cards - I've had a box of them for years and decided now was the time to put them to use.

(I don't remember her ever making one of these dolls though)
I really like using glassine envelopes as pockets.
This packet of needles also came from DH's grandmother's stash.
At one point I had turned scraps from a threadbare vintage quilt top into blank greeting cards but they didn't get used. This one happened to have a hexie flower (not pieced by me) so I trimmed away the card and added a vintage button.
Over the years I lost track of how many sets of Ann and Andy dolls I made. I'm happy at this point to have only the pattern.
I added this pocket and another greeting card front on the final page so I could record a few of the journal's details.
This is what I wrote on the back side (name intentionally blanked out).

There are quite a few more pages not shown here showcasing a lot more ephemera that has been floating around for far too long.
I'm truly delighted with the "vibe" of this journal and all that it represents.
