Scrappy Saturday - Heartsong - The Quilt

In between the recent rains,

we had this glorious blue-sky afternoon.

Without further ado, here is . . .

Heartsong

This quilt was not one of my 2015 RSC projects,

but it is very much a scrappy colorful quilt.

Obligatory "flat" photo with autumn's blue light

The binding was made with excess backing trimmings.

Heartsong measures 49" wide x 64" long.

There is nothing like late afternoon sunshine

to highlight quilted textures.

(and I love the quilt's summery colors against the drab autumn oak leaves)

Oh yes, it will be marvelous

to start enjoying this beauty come January . . .

Heartsong - The Flimsy (and back)

. . . and then the tumblers became a quilt top.

Heartsong

49" wide x 63.5" long

This glorious yardage was the original inspiration.

I was very glad I purchased an extra yard

so I could "match" the pattern at the center seam.

The border fabric strips are the most wonderful blue/purple blend.

I really wanted to take this outside for photos,

but it was rainy and very windy . . . 

hence the indoor floor photos.

Heartsong is already away for quilting.

What a joyous blend of colors this will be

during our bland khaki January.

P.S. One - Wanda, do you remember when I was paralyzed by that stack of KF fat quarters?  I kept thinking of them and us as I stitched this quilt top together . . .

P.S. Two - Terri, this is how many of the fabrics from your Easy shop have been used.  Not the way you had them packaged, but . . .

The Tumblers Have Spoken

360 scrappy tumblers have made themselves heard.
