Long Ago Project Updated

As some of you may have seen on My Mixed Media Adventures page, in 2007 I made a double-sided journal quilt each month.

Since then they've been stored single file in this wire magazine rack - and that has always bugged me.

Why?  Because somewhere during 2007 I started to envision them as a book of quilts . . .

Fast forward to the present.

Several weeks ago, a flash of inspiration arrived.

All I needed to buy were a couple rolls of this grosgrain ribbon.

I gathered my beading thread (stronger than Aurifil), one of my favorite needles, and my thimble.

I spent several evenings stitching the twelve monthly quilts into signatures of two with the thought that they could then be sewn to a some sort of flexible spine.

This first step worked exactly as I had hoped.

But since then my brain has been noodling with far too many ideas generated by a plethora of book binding videos on You Tube.  (What a rabbit hole!)

At this point I am going to go ahead with my plan to hand stitch the signatures to a flexible inner spine using my colorful Perle cotton threads.

Once the necessary outside thickness can be measured I'll be ready to figure out how to attach the front and back cover quilts (also two-sided).

I think I know what I want to do, but I need to see the inner spine step completed first.

On the health front, this fever has been very stubborn - today may be the day it finally stays down (I hope so) but I also discovered late yesterday the antibiotic I am taking has a significant interaction with my blood pressure med (not true for everyone, mostly for those over 65) that results in low blood pressure.

THAT certainly explains my lack of energy (I can't blame the fever for all of it now).

So while I'm taking the rest of the antibiotic, I am off my usual BP med (and yes, I did consult my doctor).  In another day or so my BP should return to normal.

SHEESH.

Unfollow people that drain your energy.

Abandon projects that drain your time.

Do not keep up with it all.
