Blueberry Nonsense - the quilt

Blueberry Nonsense went on a short field trip

to the local elementary school playground.

(At 97 degrees - it was HOT!)

Yes, the "piano keys" on the jungle gym play notes when pressed!

Chris quilted BN with her fabulous free motion swirls.

Love the texture!!

I just couldn't resist this shot!

Miss Ladybug certainly did not need this quilt to keep her warm!

This is the pillow that I made using Clare's orphaned piece.

(see previous post for "before" photo)

I added lots of wonky line stitching along her inserts.

I added only a little of my own fabric to her scraps

to create the back side . . .

Blueberry Nonsense

Beginnings of a scrappy back

I started work on this sometime last summer.

For one reason or another, 

it, and the other scrappy fabric  pieces,
ended up in a box on the shelf ~ unfinished.

Fast forward to the present.

I've signed up to participate in Brenda's String Thing Along,

When I glanced over at my UFO and pending projects,

my eye immediately landed on these fabrics . . .

Stitched strings soon became strata.

Those strata were trimmed and recombined

to create six long columns.

When it came time to add the sashing and borders,

I must have auditioned at least

ten different combinations

before settling on these.

I love how sunshine makes the colors glow . . .
