Like others of you, I have been enjoying my copy of the newest collaborative quilting
book by Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston. And, as those who've been visiting for a while already know, I've been pondering a basket quilt for a
long time. I posted earlier this year on what I then thought was my
final plan but, after seeing these interpretations, I've actually begun cutting and stitching my fabrics! Mine will be a blend of the two concepts ~ work-in-progress photos soon.
Work has slowed on
Birthday Batiks, but it will have to be completed sooner rather than later because I'll need the design wall for my baskets!
DH has built me a wonderful, permanent table for my second sewing machine ~ now it is my turn to paint the base . . . here it is, sitting in the guest room, waiting patiently.
Also waiting patiently are the pieces for Pass the Pickles Please ~ there's more cutting yet to be done but the right time has not yet presented itself (I've been in the mood to stitch and bind, not fussy cut).

The story behind the writings to be shared have taken many years to evolve ~ my goal is to write and post there once a week (I've added a permanent link in my sidebar).
There are
several other projects simmering on the back burners in my head ~ but the ones I've shared here are the ones where I want to keep my focus (at least for now).
