Saturday morning found him washing the car and vacuuming out the interior.
His hard work added $10.00 towards his goal.
He told us rinsing is more fun than washing.
Next up was washing the six big windows on the back of the house.
He thought Dee Dah's method was awesome.
He finished up by using the leftover ammonia-mixture water to scrub away the pollen on the glass table top.
Add another $5.00.
Then it was time for a fun break. I still cannot get over how many hours he has spent on that swing.
Later in the day he helped me trim off and dispose of the flower spikes on our large coleus and hosta plants to add another few dollars to his grand total.
Indoors, the wooden solar-powered marble run kit was designed for 8 and up. Young Man decided that rating was a "NO WAY" because even with Dee Dah's engineering help, it was a fail. But they had fun working on it.

With his allowance savings from home and his earnings at our house, he was able to order his RC car late Saturday afternoon. It was delivered to his house on Sunday and Daddy brought it along when he came to pick up the boy.
Of course, they had to pair it with the controller and test it thoroughly in our back yard with excitingly-excellent performance off road in the grass.
End result? One happy Young Man.

Great story! My youngest grandson, 6, loves, loves Legos. He breathes legos and Nascar. He saved his money, earned some and bought a Nascar lego car. He put it all together by himself and entered in his local county fair and won a blue ribbon! I love when kids are so dedicated and focused in their creative passions! What a great experience for your grandson!
I'll bet your helper slept very well that night!
Hard work followed by fun and the earned reward of that longed-for RC car!! If only every day could be like that for everyone.

I'm sure the car is more special to him because he earned the money for it himself. It looks like a successful weekend and smiles all around.

Love the motivation and industriousness in the weekend story! And a fun break for a swing. That was a packed weekend topped off by getting the car he wanted. And there's a lot to be said for speedy deliveries these days- no waiting.
