Twelve blocks on the design wall, that is.

From here, it will be all about the sashings and borders,

since I want a generous lap quilt and not a too-big version.

(each block should finish at 14")

I made my ring segments from strata.

(instead of foundation piecing)

I enjoy stitching strings and strips together,

then combining the cut-off ends to make more strings ~

and watching how those "made" strings add a bit of sparkle to the overall mix.

it's time to take a deep breath and pause for a moment . . .

Regarded in this manner, the pre-Christmas rush may 

do us greater service than we realize. 

With all its temporal confusion, 

it may just help us to see that by contrast, 

Christmas itself is eternal."
