Scrambled Scraps

Introducing . . . Scrambled Scraps.

Colorful, scrappy, and satisfying.

The long-ago abandoned Midnight Posies BOM blocks

were quartered and sashed, then mixed with 

black and white strips cut from previous quilt backing remains

and strip set segments left from Impact Zone.

Even the back got into the scrappy action with

multiple black and white fabrics and

re-purposed binding strips from earlier quilts.

Chris used the peacock meander panto

and variegated black and white thread ~

wonderful texture!

This combination just makes me happy.

For now, this will be a kitchen table topper

(ironically, the colorful side is TOO colorful for this spot).

p.s.  The MS River crested here at Memphis overnight at 47.8 feet (flood stage is 34 feet, major flood stage is 46 feet, the alltime record still stands at 48.7 feet.)  They're predicting the water will remain at the crested level for 2-3 days before slowly (6-8" a day) lowering to more normal levels.  (Estimates put the flow of the river's water entering the spillway just opened near New Orleans at roughly 2-3 times the flow rate of water going over Niagara Falls ... now THAT is mind boggling!)  Cities to the south of us are now bracing for the crest to move their way . . .
