London Fields - the Quilt

The pieces and parts for London Fields were cut
in December 2107 . . .

Now, at last, the quilt is finished.

(no outdoor photos due to cold, wind, and rain)

Finished size is 52" wide x 64" long

Binding is a 2010 VIP Cranston stripe.

Quilted with my liberated fans and echoed flowers
using Glide thread in Buttercup.

I cannot tell you how many times I changed my mind
about possible backing fabrics for this quilt top.

On Tuesday of this week I decided
to use this Sit and Snip yardage
by Connie Haley for 3WishesFabric.

It turned out to be just what the top needed.

Next up on the quilting list?

What a stunner! The quilting in particular really enhances it. Some lovely scraps in there. Great job.

Some quilts are like fruitcake: they have to be put away for a while until they're ready to serve, or in this case, quilt-and-bind. Hooray for a (tasty) finish.

Love the subtle use of color in this quilt. And the quilting texture is just fabulous.

Those liberated fans and bright backing are fabulous! I really liked that soft alphabet print that you chose the first time around. I'll be interested to see where that one ends up.

A lovely quilt, subtle with just the right amount of bright colour! And, what's not to love about a surprise finding on the back!
