A little while ago I shared the center portion of this quilt top (click HERE).
But now the quilt top is really, truly, finished with its inner and outer borders.
Dumpster Diving 12 - Confetti, the flimsy, measures 56" wide x 69" long.
Here is the upper right hand corner detail . . .
and here is the upper left hand corner.
The inner border is Brandon Mably's 'Brollies" fabric. I tried the green from the abandoned sashing strips but it did nothing. Then, at Lynne's suggestion, I tried a bright orange. I loved the energy but the single color stopped the riot of color cold.
When I tried this busy, bright, slightly wacky fabric I knew it was absolutely 'the one' to keep Confetti's party going.

Next up will be getting the blocks for Moxie laid out on the design wall.
They can then be clipped for webbing and I can continue sewing the HSTs for Tussie Mussie in the process of creating Moxie's quilt top.
(poor Macnas is still rolled on the pool noodles waiting for me to do its pin basting . . .)

SEW bold and so much fun, Julie!!
Lovely flimsy with those great border choices!! Such a wonderful rainbow of colors in this one--nice work hugs, Julierose
I didn't notice which fabric was the first border but I instantly knew I liked it. The color and pattern is just the right amount of break between the center and spectacular outer border. I was really surprised when I saw the close up of it.
What a great riot of color! It looks so unique and fresh.
What a glorious riot of happy colors in this quilt! Do you know who made the paint-splattered outer border fabric? It's wonderful.
I look forward to seeing what's next, and the one after, and after!
Wish I had some of your energy.
Hugs!
What a great quilt! I absolutely love that border fabric.
The inner border is fantastic -gives just the right amount of structure and a gorgeous little pop of something extra.
WOW WOW WOW! Makes me think of the Walt Disney TV song: "the world is a carousel of color." I looked up the lyrics: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/The_Wonderful_World_of_Color
It's funny how particular our quilts are. We think we can force fit our choice but they have their own opinions. Wonderful border. It really carries the theme. Congratulations.
charlotta58@gmail.com - that might be the best (brightest and most cheerful) flimsy I’ve never seen! I can sew together lots of scraps like that but I inevitably find that I have lots of scraps which are not saturated and bright, and I have a hard time sorting them out and only using the bright and saturated fabric scraps. I guess I feel that if I do, then all the “boring” scraps will be left behind and will make a really sad quilt on their own?
What an absolutely delightful riot of color and pattern! I love every part of it.
Amazing explosion of colour going on here!! You couldn't have picked a more appropriate border fabric here, fits in beautifully.
