Block 9 and Then Some - Dumpster Diving 2.0

This was the beginning of block number 9
for Dumpster Diving 2.0.

(If you've missed the earlier posts for this one,
click HERE, HERE, and HERE to get caught up)

This is the finished block.

Now there are NINE blocks on the wall!

But what to do with all of the leftover
1.5" scrap segments that weren't used
in those nine blocks?

I started by randomly sewing them together end-to-end.

Well - mostly in a random manner.

I did make sure there was good contrast
between one piece and the next.

Then I pressed each color group's long
multi-fabric scrappy strip.

It didn't take terribly long before this happened:
Twenty-nine 80" lengths pinned on the design wall.

By the time I finish the final three blocks
and add their leftover segments to this mix,
I'll have the makings for roughly two yards
of glorious deliriously-happy-scrappy fabric!

What a feast for the eyes here Julie! I love your blocks, especially this newest delicious pink one and I'm waiting to see what you do with the stripped yardage.

Gorgeous. Scraps are my favorite quilts. They have so much personality.

Hell, just sew those strips together as you have them hanging for another gorgeous quilt.

Love your blocks

Wow, it's really coming along. Looks great. Those strips would be a great quilt just stitched together as they are, too. Lots of color!

Are you sewing all the strips together lengthwise then? Adding a neutral between them? I just love looking at the blocks and the strips.

Lovely colour! You could turn it into one of those quilts where you sew the long strips end to end then - I can't remember what but it ends up as a quilt. LOL

Wow! The dumpster blocks were already fascinating me - that rainbow cascade is stunning me! I'm now eyeing my scraps in a whole new way!

I wonder if several of these lengths of color wouldn't be a perfect border for this very quilt you're working on here?
