Things have been pretty crazy here lately
with DH off helping elder son
get their house ready to put on the market
and
yours truly pulling lots of baby and dog sitting duty.
(I'm not complaining - not at all!)
There has been very little sit-and-sew time
but I have managed to sort through my waiting projects
and make some decisions on how to proceed.
These seven pairs of Outback Wife fat quarters
will become the top of a quilt.
And the five pairs of fat quarters in these two photos
will become the back of that quilt.
The Stonehenge yardage
will be used as sashings or borders
to bring that back up to size.
(fyi - in the past few months,
I've gone through at least a dozen ideas
for how to use these bark cloth beauties,
so I'm delighted that I've finally settled on a plan)
By using this tutorial and making a two-sided quilt,
I will use all but 3 of the fat quarters in the bundle.
No clue when I'll get this cut out or sewn,
but having a definite plan represents big progress.
There are several other projects
that need this same kind of
sorting through and decision making.
All in good time!

Sounds like a plan!
Interesting quilt idea. The fabric is very different so I can see why it would be hard to figure it out.
I'm looking forward to the top... curious :-)
And for me too, the fabric would be difficult
btw the screenshot of the 2x4 layout gave me an idea for the fabrics I pulled for another baby quilt :-)
Aren't those Outback Wife fatquarters gorgeous!
Nice plan.
Right on quote.
Lovely fabric, lovely pattern choice!
Outback Wife barkcloth. Lucky you. This will be so beautiful.
Sounds like a plan. Looking forward to seeing these pretty florals come together in your new quilt!
That pattern will really let the big, bold florals shine. Do you always plan out your backings? Mine tend to be last minute searches through the stash for something appropriate.
I adore these fabrics! They will look so good in a simple pattern.:)
You are so wonderfully organised Julie, send vibes my way please, I need to do this I think.
I liked Outback Wide fabrics when I first saw them but had a mental block on how to use them in a quilt , they'll look lovely in the pattern you're using.
p.s. I've tried emailing a couple of times, but no luck. Enjoy your break!
