A Little Bit of Progress

Since I last posted about the advent tree project
(inspired by THIS POST)
I have removed the hooks from the ornament backs
and replaced them with red ribbon loops.

I think I embroidered these in 1978 or 1979.

(the fabric in the background
will be the advent tree quilt's backing)

I have also sorted out and
stitched into like-size groups
these light neutral prints
that will surround the advent tree.

As time permits, I'll sew these together
and turn them into made-fabric-yardage.

The gathered greens have been sorted into like-size groups
but no stitching has happened with these yet.

There's still time -
I have until November 30th.

Max and I actually had a couple of hours one morning
to work on the quilting phase of my

Five of the twelve are quilted, trimmed to size,
and ready for their black and white bindings.

Thankfully, this project has no specific deadline.

You have a great assortment of emerald greens! That color seems to be hard to find in quilting fabric, and is among my favorites. It will be gorgeous in your quilt :)

You remind me to get going on my Christmas projects which have a much closer deadline. Yikes.

Cute ornaments! This looks to be a happy project, plus you get to use up those neutrals.

Wonderful Christmas ornaments! I like the idea of making up a liberated tree and how considerate to ask Lynn to use her idea.
I like that quote too. As always I enjoy my visit here, thanks, Julie.
