Dilemma

The center panel is made with
leftover HSTS from Amish Strings.

For now, the abstract center measures 18" x 20"

After pulling fabrics from the stash,
(and making a giant mess in the studio)
I came up with four possible border combinations.

Close-up photos follow.

Which one(s) do you like?

Which one(s) should be 'voted off the island'?

Here is option one.

Here is option two.

This is option three.
(note - the cheddar/green are most accurate in this photo)

This is option four.

One way of the other, we all have an opinion . . .
thanks for sharing yours!

Hmmm... I don't know, I think I am leaning towards 4. Maybe it is because of the bright border fabric.

I'm not a big purple fan, but I'm also leaning towards option #4!

four

I love option 3. I think that the dark teal inner border draws that color from the green/teal batik in the center and emphasizes the cheddar. The outer border is just pleasant with the rest in my mind and adds a softness that doesn't draw the eye from the center, but is still interesting.

I really like 2 and 4. Vote 1 off. ;D

I like #4 best as well. #1 doesn't do anything for me at all. I'm sure seeing them all in person is different than photos. Good luck.

I'm with the others on #4. I don't like #1. but you're there in person with the right colours, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I like #3 the best. It really makes the "cheddar" pop. I could also go with 4 which it looks like a lot of other comments like. Love the HSTs.

The waters of clear decision keep getting muddier... I vote for #3!

Three.

I like option 2 outer fabric but don't care for the red next to the quilt, #3 is good too.

I think it looks cool with all 4 borders like you have it in the very 1st photo. If "All of the Above" is not an option I think I like 4 best.

Option 3 followed by option 4.

I like 3 or 4, probably 4 the best.

four. The other three just don't do much for me.

I don't know if this is much of a contribution. I would vote #1 off the island and then have a tough decision between 3 and 4

I have to say, the one that 'popped' for me was number three. If you have to vote someone off the island I'd say it should be number one. Happy sewing!

I like numbers 2 and 4. As far as I'm concerned, it depends on what you're looking for in the final product. And will there be anything more beyond these prospective border combinations?

Have we thoroughly confused you now?

My first inclination was #3, but somehow it seems almost too... matchy?
I thought #2 most unexpected but don't really care for the red - any chance of pairing the inner border from #1 with the outer #2?
