Furry Friday - Pay It Forward

I actually spent some time in my studio Thursday evening. It was the first time since Rufus has come to live with us ~ and oh, my ~ he is retraining me in a hurry!

Funny boy ... so curious ...

He's working hard to live up to his new title of Assistant Quality Control Manager (Angel will forever retain her position as QC Manager).

He's discovered the windowsill . . .

And he's discovered the table for my original machine ... this is his "keeping an eye on the arrival of another kitty" pose.

I did my small part to help keep USPS in business this week.

MIL's hearing aids and stash of replacement batteries have been sent to Hear Now based in Eden Prarie, Minnesota.

Two of MIL's quilts, Kitty Chaos and Feline Fancy (Laurel Burch Fantastic Felines wholecloth), have been freshly laundered and sent to Margaret's Hope Chest of Grand Rapids, Michigan. What a terrific volunteer effort to provide quilts to children and others in need as the Michigan winter approaches.

And MIL's glasses have been donated to OneSight through our local Lenscrafters store.

Paying it forward is a good thing. Now, here's to the weekend!

"To many people, spiritual healing sounds rather exotic, something only very holy or evolved people can do. The truth is spiritual healing comes naturally to all of us, and is achieved every time we open our hearts fully, speak our truth, see the beauty in all things and desire to share this joyful energy with those around us. One needn’t take any specific training in order to be a healing force in this world. It only takes a generous heart and a willingness to share it with others. It doesn’t take power or money or even time to be a generous and loving force in the world. It just takes the desire to make the world a little brighter with your heart." (Sonia Choquette, Ph.D.)

Did we get to see Kitty Chaos &/or Feline Fancy? (Those sound right up my alley - giggle.) I sent 4 tops to be completed myself - well I will after work when I get to the post office.

I was also cutting - so I have some more selvages...

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous ideas and pay it forwards. And that little Ruf-ian has such a look in his eyes..oh my, he may be a cat but he has a kitten's heart doesn't he? I love cat stories and kitty cat energy. They truly are keepers of the quilts!!!

I just had to go check out Margaret's Hope Chest. Now I have another project I want to contribute to! I need to figure out a way to sew faster!

Truly, thanks for pointing us in the direction of all these wonderful organizations.

Gosh Julie, that was very cool of you to do.

Rufus is a funny boy. I love that photo of his pieced decor! What a hoot. I'm really glad there's some time for quilting, too. How is DH? Is he getting time for working with his craft as well?

I like the watching for kitties photo. They are always so alert, if they aren't napping. I hope one day the kitties will all be best friends.

It looks like you have a really good start on the paper pieced quilt.
