A Quilt for Miss Tippy

Princess Tippy has returned to her house for a few days but she'll be with us over the weekend and then again for a week near the end of the month.   Summer = Camp Sefton and a second quality assurance manager in the quilt studio.

So what does that information have to do with the small almost-quilt above?

I love looking at Kaffe Fassett fabrics ~ their joy, exuberance, and glorious colors delight my senses.  But I have a hard time working with them (go figure).  So, I ordered a set of 36 charm squares with the promise to myself that I would complete a small project.

They quickly  (before I could think too much) became half-square triangles which became pinwheel blocks which became what will be a quilt for Tippy (ala Angel's Gizzy quilt).

And there was just enough of the fabulous fabric from Jazzberry Jam to piece the back and create the binding.

Truly a riot of outrageous colors for a small dog who thinks she's a Great Dane (if you aren't sure, just ask her!).

It's gorgeous!

I understand your feelings on having difficulty with using some fabrics. I think I feel the same way about Kaffe's fabrics.

What a lucky little puppy! Do you think she will be able to sleep with all that going on? I feel the same about some fabrics. I love them but somehow I can't work them into anything. This looks great, so carefree.

Oh, so wonderful and perfect for the tiniest Great Dane I've ever seen! Talk about a little dog with a big presence and no doubt an even bigger heart! I just LOVED that post photo of her when you were grandog caring!

I agree about the fabrics. They seem to look the best just all jumbled together! Good job and Miss Tippy will love it!

It's that cutting-before-you-think-too-much that's the trick to getting started! That quilt looks like it will suit Miss Tippy to a T :- )

Oh this is absolutely perfect for Tippy! I can't wait to see her resting on this. Oh I don't want to miss that when it happens either.
